White Card Course
The College has recently offered Year 10, 11 and 12 students the opportunity to participate in the Work Safely in the Construction Industry course. Successful completion of the course is awarded with a construction 'White Card'. This card and course are mandatory requirements under Queensland's Workplace Health and Safety Regulation 2008 for all persons wishing to carry out construction type work or frequenting a construction site. Well done, to all students, who participated in the course, we hope you found it beneficial.

Year 12 University Early Entry
It is that time of year when our Year 12 students considering applying to universityshould be starting to do their research and preparing for making applications to their universities and courses of choice.
One way to apply to a university is through an early entry program. Early entry programs at universities are designed to offer students a chance to secure a place in a university course before they complete their final high school examinations or receive their ATAR. These programs often assess students based on criteria other than their final exam results or ATAR, such as their Year 11 or mid-Year 12 grades, extracurricular activities, and personal statements.
To help our Year 12 students navigate the early entry programs at university, they can access the Early Entry Guide, published by ‘Study Work Grow’. Many of these early entry programs are open for application or are opening soon and Year 12 students should apply before these programs close. Students can access the Early Entry Guide via the Careers page on Canvas, where they will find many other career resources.
Open Days and Careers Events
With Year 10 and Year 12 students making career and pathway decisions over the coming months, a great way to find information to help with decision making is through attending the many open days and careers events that are being held at this time of year. Our Careers department has published to Canvas an Open Days Guide to support students to plan their attendance at the open days for many providers of tertiary education.
Of course, this is not the only source of information for Careers events, we are regularly publishing our College Careers newsletter and also have a calendar of events on our Assumption College Careers webpage at www.acwcareers.com.
