Chess Competition Online Last Friday
Last Friday, we participated in an exhilarating online chess competition. It was wonderful to see so many students participate, as they spent a whole day playing chess in the library! Many showcased their strategic skills and new strategies, which were admirable. Congratulations to all participants who represented the college with pride! If you missed it, don't worry – we'll have more events soon. We encourage any students interested in chess to join our weekly chess club to practice and be the first to know when chess competitions are coming up.
Quiet Space Available as Exams Approach
With exams just around the corner and assignments in full swing, we understand the need for a quiet and focused study environment. Our library offers designated quiet spaces in M1 and M2 at the back of the library to help you concentrate and prepare effectively. Feel free to reserve a spot by speaking to library staff and make the most of this peaceful setting.
New Floor Chairs have Arrived!
Visit us in the library today to check out our new floor chairs! Miss Quinn and Mrs Driver have tested them out and agree that they would be fabulous for reading a good book. They allow students to lean back and relax without the risk of falling. Students of all ages are welcome to take a chair and find a nice spot on the floor to sit and read.
Keep Reading for Fun
Amidst all the studying, remember to take some time to read for pleasure. Whether it's a thrilling novel, a captivating biography, or a fascinating nonfiction book, reading can be a great way to relax and unwind. Remember, reading takes practice and is used in many aspects of life! Reading something enjoyable allows children to develop stamina for reading through choice; and with consistent, enjoyable reading they can develop the ‘will’ to read as well as ‘the skill’!
