As Term 3 moves with its expected pace our College community prepares for several significant upcoming events, I would like to take this opportunity to remind all students of the support personnel and processes that are available to assist with all curriculum related matters. Thursday afternoon Tutoring sessions are running as per usual (Rooms 311-312 from 3:15pm-4:15pm weekly) with our incredibly dedicated teaching staff volunteering their time to ensuring the best academic outcomes for all students. A reminder that these sessions are not a babysitting service and are to be attended only by students intending on utilising them for purposeful and focussed study.

Our Program Leaders Mr Matthew Kirby (Junior) and Mrs Kristy Searson (Senior) are readily available to all students for consultation on academic loads, subject preferences and courses of study and provide ongoing, tailored support to all students. Parents are encouraged to remain actively engaged in their student’s academic progress and are able to direct all curriculum queries to these staff via email or through the College phone line.

The last week has seen our College community congratulate and celebrate many of our students for outstanding academic achievement, as well as sustained motivation and dedication to their studies. These students represent the thriving academic culture Assumption College is proud to continue developing. I personally congratulate each one of these students for committing to the growth of their own personal potential and sharing their valuable contributions with our College community.

Grade 10 SET Plan Interviews will be taking place on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 August. Letters detailing the timing of your student’s interview will be sent home promptly. Please contact the College to arrange alternate timing for these should these dates not be suitable.
